The very first transfer Slavia Prague ever made by using data analytics is dating back to summer 2016. At that time Slavia needed an aggressive and strong center back, and the Cameroonian Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui was a perfect choice.
We scouted Ngadeu from scratch, using data analysis, our own team of video scouts and even prepared detailed psychological profile based on his social media presence. This way, we submitted all crucial pieces of information to Slavia's board.
For €500,000, Slavia has acquired an experienced center back at his peak age, who was adapted to European football.
Ngadeu quickly settled himself into starting eleven. He started to show all his above-mentioned skills - he defended the space perfectly, read the game and had no problem in a physically demanding league. In his first season in the Czech Republic, he on average won 8 headers and 14 challenges each match and ranked as one of the best players in the league.
Right in the first season, he and Slavia managed to win the league title. They ended eight years long waiting for the title in the domestic competition. Ngadeu also played a key role in the African Nations Cup with Cameroon, where his country won after fifteen years. He showed high-quality performances and helped to win a valuable title for his country. He was even voted into the Best Eleven of the tournament. The season after that, Slavia managed to win a home cup and added another trophy to its collection.
Ngadeu's value is now approximately at € 3 million, which is six times more than his original price was. Currently, he is an indispensable part of the team, and big clubs regularly shows interest in him.
